Mk12 Mod 0 FINALLY.

I built mine "clone ish" using a Seekins upper and lower and a Rainier Supermatch barrel. I tried to like the PRI foreend but just couldnt....so I swapped it to a midwest 15" T-rail.

Thats similar to the original SPR I built.
You can change a lot of things on one, but if it doesnt have the carbon handguard, its just not a MK12.

Made a few changes since the last post, figured I'd update.

10" plate through the thermal at 430 was no problem last weekend.
No extra heating done to the target outside of what the overcast sun gave them.
Verdict is still out on the SiCo Radius...havent really had a ton of time behind it on varying types of targets and sizes.

Nice. Useable up to like 8-10x?

I had a dedicated pulsar unit and it was fine for specific night ops. But I run nods and a peq and need/wanted something I can attach at dark. And keep my daytime optic.

I’ll check it out.

Yeah depending on range and target, 10-12x is it (without what you’re seeing looking like shit) But for 556, that will work at any range its capable to.

Like a shitload of people I love the look and idea/premise of the Mk12.
I built an 18” SPR 5 or so years ago with that Mk12 image in my head but once it was done I never really liked it much. Its just didnt do anything for me, barely liked shooting it. So I sold it.
Got really heavy into PRS style shooting and couldnt justify building another that would likely just sit around. So I just kind of lusted for the past few years.

Finally said fuck it and put one together. Its not 100% correct because I didnt want the shitty Leupold and ARMS rings, and didnt want the A2 grip. Just waiting on the crown for my AEM5 now.

I havent had a chance to actually print any groups or do any real load development, (just threw 24gr Varget under a 77smk) but Ive ran it out to 1000 without too much trouble, and 800 seems to be the realistic “effective range”. Zero trouble getting on a 2MOA plate there.
Movers from a barricade as fast as you want to go is super fun.

Glad I wasted the money on a gun that probably won't ever serve any purpose for me other than a fun gun.

Pulsar working out great!
Got it out last night and got one at 150ish and one at 55y.

Also tagged a coon at 199.
Zero shift is almost non existent (especially at those ranges on game size targets) and its been very repeatable.
One thing I have noticed is that you have to find the parallax setting in your optic, that eliminates parallax from the thermal... and thats not always the best image.
