MOB attacks diners

Re: MOB attacks diners

It never happens in a CCW state because people know they'd get their sorry asses shot for being a scumbag p.o.s.

Re: MOB attacks diners

We'll see about that! There's big doings scheduled for Tampa, here in August. The people who organized this anti NATO performance are the same crowd who have been behind the 'Occupy' manipulation of imbeciles and dupes.

The mayor of Tampa is desperate to deprive people in large parts of Tampa (Downtown and Ybor city for example) their right to possess any weapons. His first foray into broaching the subject was to call these areas "Clean Zones", i.e., areas where no weapons would be permitted.

Naturally, the mechanics of insuring that the many thousands of people working and inhabiting the downtown and Ybor areas would require a Herculean effort for law enforcement; no doubt requiring searches, cordons, etc.

To be fair to our Mayor, he no doubt has access to a good deal of intelligence concerning what is about to befall us and the natural tendency is to demand that the citizenry give way, move along, nothing to see here, etc... He wants to avoid violence and minimize mayhem and for that I can't fault him.

His remedy, now called the "Event Zone" is flawed and fraught with the risk of extensive civil rights violations for law abiding Florida citizens while not appearing to acquiesce to the cynical "Activists" paid to disrupt the convention.

In the meantime, criminals, political paymasters and manipulators of mobs and very possibly, foreign terrorists too, are highly likely to make trouble here in Tampa this summer.

We remain a free state and there won't be assholes (From out of town or the local variety) running roughshod over us with little more than whimpers and plaintive, desperate calls for the police to come and take our reports, review video and perhaps save us.

Event or clean zones notwithstanding: this ain't Chicago. Bringing a bludgeon to a restaurant here will result in far more than requiring stitches for injured patron's scalps.

Re: MOB attacks diners

The Clean Zone is a zone that is restricting our 1st ammendment rights, Mayor Buckhorn knows it is against state law to prohibit legal concealed weapons to be carried in the city.

He is trying to get the DOJ to allow him to break state law, the DOJ does not have that authority.

Re: MOB attacks diners

"Winston, and police, said the men knew who their targets were, and that the attack wasn’t a random act of violence. Winston said the mob “targeted” a group of 20 diners, all of whom were from out of state."

WTF?

Re: MOB attacks diners

It's hard to really comment on this. You look at who was attacked and think, well, they had that coming. But on the other hand, it's hard to endorse mob violence or any violence at all. While I am vehemently against the white-supremacy or any racist movement, but everyone has the right to safety and to defend themselves from lunacy like this.

Re: MOB attacks diners

Let's examine this from a POV which integrates the prison system culture, which these attackers exist in, and grew up in, with the understanding of what factually occurred.

What is the first rule of being the one with the power to intimidate? Take out the biggest, or most threatening individual, or group.

Who is most likely to unite in a manner of defense against your little spree of terrorizing? The group which is obviously largest in number and unity. Remember, a table was attacked. For the size of such a party, knowing the great profit it will bring, and tips for the waitress(es), a restaurant will often facilitate their being seating at "one" table; this is often referred to as a singular table, because a table is, in restaurant lingo, often associated with a rendering of credit, and the incurring of debt, i.e. the bill. Often, this is facilitate through pushing several tables together in the shape of one table, thus completing the understanding of the group being together, and an ability to focus the effort of service.

That is all to say, given the context, and what is reported, if we are to set aside the idea that the news media and its sources are not giving any opinion, they just acted like they've been trained to do when wanting to gain power, influence and to have the ability to terrorize people into submission: take out the biggest target first.

This was the result of a Chicago-land culture and the stupidity of multiple things coalescing into the beginnings of an unavoidable period of civil unrest.

Thoughts?
