Haven't sanded it out yet, but I was able to relieve the free-float space between the stock and the barrel with a utility knife. Before, there was about 1mm of clearance and you would touch the barrel with very little pressure. Now, there's enough clearance that it won't touch unless you REALLY squeeze the barrel and stock together.

I did the same thing but used a piece of PVC pipe and sandpaper to keep it a round even profile. But because the stock has no metal back bone, the forearm would just push up into the barrel with any type of pressure on it. So, I put mine is a KRG Bravo.....
OP here - I removed enough material that it took a significant amount of pressure to touch the barrel.... vertically. However, there was still <1mm of clearance horizontally, and minimal pressure made it touch so I gave up on the idea. The Hogue pillar-bedded stock is just made out of poop and no amount of epoxy or removing material will change that.
Like I said, I went back to the Magpul Hunter stock. I really wanted the Hogue to work out because I prefer the more traditional 'American' style stocks to these 'tactical' chasis stocks. I am just beginning to get into this, and I'm working with limited resources. Maybe I'll get a nice walnut stock or laminated stock in the future.

Hogue makes a version of that stock with a full bedding block sort of like an embedded mini-chassis. But there are so many other, perhaps better options out there too.
