Anyone have any experience building a monopod, for instance for CAA or PRS style stocks? Seems like it should be straightforward with the right combination of off-the-shelf bolts and lots of tapping/threading. But given that these things go from $90-$200 for what seems like a few dollars of metal, maybe there's more to it?

Okay that's really sweet--I think I see how most of it came together, but am really interested how you made the scope ring mount? That locks into place either in the folded or 90 degree/extended position?

I milled the actual ring part off the base and dilled, tap and screewed it to the round piece of stock after I milled a flat on it.

For positioning, theres's a hole drilled in the top piece of the pod with a spring and a pin in it. when you tighten the top thumb screw up, it holds the pin in the dent holes in the base. It actually goes past 90* to the rear for the rearward force when you fire

It's a proto-type, lol.
