Am thinking about bedding my H.S.Precision stock with the aluminum block.Any advice would be appreciated.Have bedded other stocks,so am not new to this.I know you guys encourage new members to use the search function, but i'm not very good on computers.Tried several key words and got 200 hits each time, with about 95% not related to my search. If anyone feels up to it,I would accept advice on the search function, also, or a link to what i am looking for. Many Thanks Lightman

Re: More bedding questions

Deadly0311,I've had issues with my rifle shifting poi if i have to break it down for cleaning.A properly bedded stock should not do this,so I want to bed it.H.S.says not to, so i wanted info from anybody that has.It should be a straight-foreward deal but the "violating the warrenty"clause with the new stock caught my attention.I planned to drill or mill some shallow holes or grooves in the aluminum for the compound to adhere to.
David, thanks!Thats what i was looking for.How did the Remington turn out after you were done? Thanks Lightman

Re: More bedding questions

As for the stock, if you really like the HS Precision, then you might as well go ahead and bed it and not worry about the warranty. If you could live without the HS Precision, id sell it here and then upgrade to a McMillan or Manners. Drilling shallow holes will be fine, like others said, either practice on a turd rifle or just drill the grooves and dry fit it a few times then bed away.
