Hunting & Fishing More yotes with the FoxPro Prairie Blaster

So my buddy and I headed out this morning to do some calling before the rain started.
We went to some private land we hunt from time to time and hiked about 10 min. and set up on the edge of a a very shallow canyon bordered my brush and oaks.

I hit the Prairie Blaster and in about 2-3 min.'s I see movement in the brush. About a min. later a big male comes running in...bam! I put a 75gr hollow point where he lives.

I hit the pup in distress call and here comes a smaller female...my buddy bags her with a nice shot at about 100yrds.

I leave the call on and here comes a third dog. It comes in and then sees or smells his dead buddies and turns around and heads for the brush. My buddy takes a shot but misses.

Soon after that the rains started so we called it a morning.

Do you hunt year round or is it seasonal up by you? I'll be in Sac area for the norcal match again this coming year, but not til the end of may. I'd like to spend an extra day shooting some yotes, but haven't looked at regs yet.

You can hunt them year round. But I don't hunt when they are having pups...need to keep em coming for next time!

I like the PB but again...if I would have had a chance to play with it before buying it I would have just stuck with the OCC.

WTG!! Looks like a blast! Are you shooting a .243? How was the pelt damage? Looks like a good size exit on that one.

Yeah...the .243 is not a fur friendly round. The exit holes are quite...uhh...substantial.

Here is a pic of one I shot last month. I hit it square in the chest and the bullet exited by its ass....opening it up d=from the rib cage back.

But...I don't keep the pelts so not an issue for me.

Stan, is there big difference between the prairie blaster and thoose cheeper foxpro´s like their spitfire?
