Some people can pull a trailer with 4 half flat tires, a loose ball on the hitch and no safety chains from coast to coast , no problems. Me I wouldn't make it 1 mile without causing a 10 car pileup.

To translate escape velocity to bullet speed in FPS... the bullet would have to be travelling C. 36,700 FPS. That is 10x a pretty high rifle round.
So the actual rifle velocity is kind of a rounding error of orbital velocity... Door gunners in space have a lot of decimal places to contend with... to the left of the decimal!
