Carried by my Dad in WW2. Manufactured in 1917. I changed out the grips , originals were in rough shape , still have them.

At Chief Kyle's memorial service, at Jerry's world, I'm sitting on the field with Firefighters and Law Enforcement all around me. I look into the isle and see a line of men, all wearing white shirts and cowboy hats, headed to sit down in the row in front of me. I thought "those are Texas Rangers". I was correct, and as they passed inches in front of me, I got to drool over their barbeque pistols. 1911 in every holster. Engraving, and all kinds of tricked out grips. Come And Take It flag, Texas Ranger badge, seal of the state of Texas. It was impressive.
That was my first thought, but not made in Elizabeth NJ.
All these whippersnappers with their self loading pistols, and metallic cartridges.
