Buck in the freezer. European mount close to done and still had time today to make a few pints of wild blackberry jelly.

Back in the old days, (and mentioned in Brian's Winter, the second story of the Hatchet series by Gary Paulsen), these still deceptively warm days in September with the nippy pre-dawns and mornings means you BETTER start hunting, gathering wood, making preserves etc., If you ain't started by then, you ain't gonna survive the first frost and snow.

I'm back bitches. Some of us shoot. Not well, but shoot none the less.

This is after a little rain and a lot of wind. This rifle went down and he shot the last stage with someone else's.

This is mine. Another shooter gave me his backpack cover earlier. I initially declined thinking I'd just add mine to the pack next time. Glad he insisted. I was making fun of another shooter for wrapping his RimX in a blanket earlier in the day. Look who's laughing now.

I had forgotten how tough this match is on equipment. The dust is fine and finds it's way into everything. I started shoving a paper towel in my chamber between stages.

It was the XLR Rimfire Rumble NRL22X at Cameo in Palisade/Grand Junction.
