Heating up the wheel does nothing. Use heat, or better heat and quench, on the nut.

Passenger side is reverse threaded? So it won't loosen while going forward.

I’ve seen them reverse threaded on one side of an old tractor, but it was a really long time ago. I just remember it kicked my ass one afternoon…

I know a '51 Packard had an "L" and an "R" stamped into the end of the stud so you didn't mix them up when installing.
