Genious.... how to get people off of the phone while in a social setting

The Offline Glass, developed by a Brazilian advertising agency, promises to end the scourge of drinkers eschewing the company of their friends in favor of some quality time with their smartphones. The ingeniously simple glass features a large indent in its base which means it will only stand upright when supported by a mobile phone.

n Chilliwack, British Columbia, police officers disguised as panhandlers have become the Royal Canadian Mounted Police's newest tool in cracking down on distracted driving.

In 2012, RCMP Const. Bryan Martell appeared at a Chilliwack-area intersection dressed in a hooded jacket and ball cap – and sporting a few day's growth of beard. Wandering alongside stopped vehicles he carried a cardboard sign reading “Hello, my name is Constable Martell. If you're on your cell phone right now, you are about to get a ticket.”

If he spotted a driver texting talking on his cell phone, Cst. Martell radioed ahead to a uniformed officer who would then ticket the vehicle. The tactic is dubbed "Hobo Cops."

On December 2013, a British woman was injured after a male elephant charged her car in Kruger National Park in South Africa. Video taken from a following vehicle shows the animal facing off with the car for a few moments before flipping it several times with its tusks.

There is a site wwii relics.eu full of posts from guys in Eastern Europe that dig up WWII sites. If I recall correctly they did a spread on that very machine. The crew was still inside. The anaerobic peat preserves everything perfectly. Weapons were still functional.

Unsure what the conditions of the bodies were some of the excavations include pictures. In the cold wet people turn to a waxy mass called adopure (sp). In other cases the peat preserves the men in perfect condition. One pilot nosedived into a bog and they recovered his lend lease Airacobra. He looked like he was still alive despite being dead some 60 plus years.

Don't know if true or not but the bogs are great places for organized crime/others to get full auto guns, grenades, etc.. If I had any brains when I was living in Moscow circa 1988 I would have went not too far away and found stuff lying on the surface. The Russians under the Soviets never concerned themselves with that stuff. It was only when western collector money started coming in that the started cleaning the battle fields.

And I've walked the Battle Road in Lexington, MA a bunch of times and not found so much as a spent cartridge. Let's hope our lands never become one littered with the debris of real battle.

Zero hesitation on the rebel. She is smoking that cigarette because she just got done servicing the village donkeys and camels
