I’ve noticed that girls also often take simplistic approaches to small creatures that scare them. No reflection on you, your comment just reminded me of that.

I know exactly why I take the simple approach. Started when I was five-years-old. Had an encounter with with a snake that I can still clearly recall 61 years later. Since that time I have been both fearful and fascinated by snakes. Enjoyed reading and watching programs about them, but have no desire to approach any closer than 12 gauge range.

i have a few arcade games in the basement

kids get all mad when they die...and thats it start over

i tell them games back then were for making money not for "beating them"

now all the games are made to "play"

they joke around "how cant i beat a game with one button" lol
