Nope, no relation. It was going to be the new Nissan halo car instead of the Skyline. AWD, mid engined, all the tech, debuting the new VG30DE that would end up in the 300ZX. The 2nd gen concept had the VG30DETT. Would've been better than the Skyline in my opinion.
