Yep, absolutely. I have some flightline pictures still somewhere. I was there when a Bone had to ditch in the ocean. That wasn't a good day
My last rotation from there was right after Thanksgiving '03.
We got to ride out a typhoon during that deployment.
To abuse a classic car like that is just plain wrong.

I had that "classic car" once . . . and sold it.
That is probably why I could be considered a "Hoarder" now. I don't like to sell anything now.
I posted that on facebook and one of my daughters replied, "Who is that dude that looks like Gru?"
When I was young and broke, I bought and sold both a ‘67 mustang and a ‘69 Camaro.
I had my hands on a Mercury space capsule once, at the surplus and scrap metal yard. It was discarded by NASA. I had no place to store it, they were going to sell it to me for $100 or so. It was 6'-7' wide, and rocking it, it was fantastically light. Probably worth a couple of million by now. No wires, totally stripped out, but it was the real thing. A piece of history, probably got melted down into aluminum wheels.
