Gonna have to read that. Lived part of it.

Lots of heroic actions by NCO's
Leadership screwups up the chain all the way to Centcom in Tampa hamstrung the troops in theatre.
Orders to limit the footprint of troops in theatre led to cascading affects.

No organic heavy fire support (artillery)

CAS was deemed sufficient (it wasnt)

Confusing Command and Control

Inaccurate intel on enemy forces and their intentions (hundreds more fighters occupied the high ground and stayed to fight instead of flee to Pakistan)

SEALs wanted into the action (replace the AFO Teams already providing intel and calling in airstrikes on enemy from their hidden observation locations ABOVE the enemy) which led to the clusterfuck on Takur Ghar (Roberts Ridge)

AC-130 (Grim 31) friendly fire attack on Green Berets and their Afghan fighters (Task Force Hammer) during the initial movement into the valley killing 2 Afghans and importantly CW2 Stanley Harriman. This tragedy basically took Task Force Hammer out of the fight before the battle began (they were to be the main effort into the valley)

Can anyone recommend a good mouthwash?
Here you go

Took a really good trip with my son for his 18th Birthday. He wanted to go to Pennsylvania to see a few things. He wanted to see the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, the JFK aircraft carrier before they scrap it and the New Jersey Battleship. We also got to see 1 of 8 of the remaining Big Boy trains.

Enjoy!!

Pics and details of the plane when you get a chance.

We flew with Talkeetna Air, about an hour an a half trip. Flew on an Otter that was modified with a Garrett Turbine engine. Massive amounts of power. They use the same plane to give tours right over the top of Denali at 21,000 feet. I highly recommend them.

If you find out when it ships for the breakers, go online and find out when it is due in Brownsville. It is a major event when they tow them to their final resting place.

I appreciate that. My son has already looked into that. He wanted to go see the Texas as they were moving it but it just didnt work out. Taking him to Pearl Harbor this fall for his Senior trip. He loves Naval history.

It was more like “yang yang yang yang yang.”

Such a quotable movie. One of my dad’s favorites so it was a staple growing up.

It was 108 yesterday and today is supposed to be hotter. Going to spray after breakfast and see if I can find a way to watch it this afternoon.
"Eat lead slant"....lol. Like Blazing Saddles....never get made today.

Because of her shenanigans, somebody forgot to close the hatch in time, accidentally flooding half of the damned thing, and somebody else got slapped silly and ordered to undergo a psych eval once they got back to the flagship IJNS Akagi...

Lets see who gets the reference... 😂
