Then again, when I was growing up in the PRNJ, The "Drake" bakery had done a lot more advertising on TV in my area. So I had always thought the "primary pastries of the day" were "Ring Dings" (Drake's answer to "Ding-Dongs"), "Yodels" (Swiss Rolls), and ""Funny Bones" (a "Twinkie" like cake but made with Devil's food cake and a Peanut Butter like filling). And for all you US Marines, out there. they also have a cake (devils food cake with a thick slab of white frosting in between... almost resembling an open hot dog bun). They call them "Devil Dogs."
