That makes me so disappointed in Florida.

I enjoy the videos of Sheriff Grady Judd. He's our kind of people.

Yup, Judd is fantastic. Wayne Ivey (Brevard County) is also on a par with Judd, as is my county Sheriff, Chris Nocco (Pasco). The others, not so much.

But it's also a function of the DA in each county and how "aggressive" they are. LE could clear you of a shooting, but show up several days later to arrest you as the DA (upon further review) decided to charge you anyway! If they're hungry for convictions and they think they can get you, they're going to try.

I once came across a Peterbilt with a sleeper cab pulling a lo-boy just like that, and a sizable excavator aboard. The trucker had run the middle of the trailer over a pretty serious dip in a small gas station’s parking lot transition (shared parking lot with a nearby grocery store) running both the leading and trailing edge of the trailer aground. There was a very optimistic young kid with a cherry lifted 80’s Chevy Blazer who had just finished hooking a 6”x30’ tow strap up to the front of the semi/back of the Blazer and was totally prepared to give it hell. I felt bad watching it break his heart when I told him there was no chance that little Blazer could put enough weight behind the strap to break it, but there was also no chance he could move that truck/trailer combo without exceeding the maximum safe weight on the strap.
