And this is why we keep trying to split the state! Of course one perpetual battle is who has to take the Bay/Delta area (SF/Sac/Berkeley, etal.).

My understanding is that they want to keep all the ag tax dollars from the San Joaquin and Sac valleys that are staunchly red. I can't think of any of us who would like the state split give a flying fuck about the Bay, but some of the delta is definitely ag ground.
