I realised yesterday that we don't have a crucifix in the house, so I hit the garage and whipped one up. I started doing another design of pine, and this same darker wood to be as an inlay in the pine, but it didn't quite work out, so I made this one from the darker wood. It's 30cm tall and in proportion to suit the height.
I enjoyed making it up, and next time I visit the big town 200 km away, I'll have a hunt around for some nice red wood or something with an interesting character to it and make another one or two.

If you didn’t live on the other side of the world, I’d send you a couple sticks of aromatic red cedar from a tree on my Dad’s property. It all been stacked and air dried and would be perfect for that.
