We like the Jeep OK…. I want to love it as much as we did her ‘15 Grand Cherokee Summit with the turbodiesel, but honestly, we really miss that X5 a lot. The controls/interface were just so nice to the touch, and very intuitive. I just can’t get comfortable in that Jeep…the seats are great, but the seat pedestals are way too tall, and I’m constantly bashing my head getting in and out, despite the seat lowered as far as it will go.

Drives me nuts.

I almost had her convinced her last week to give this one to our son and daughter-in-law who are about to have their first kid, and we’d get her a new X5, maybe a Merc E class, or (my preference) a new M5 wagon. She’s balking at the price though...she is an accountant after all! LoL. We’ll see, but don’t think this one is gonna last very long in the stable.
That X5 is pretty good as far as driver controls and driving experience. The interiors are really good. That's got the B58 engine in it that religiously turns itself into a trade in after 80k. Planned obsolescence is a thing and it's getting worse. The current version of that engine is a nightmare. The VVT is now electric motors instead of oil pressure controlled phasers. The exhaust valves have lifters that can be deactivated and that was a nightmare with tons of cylinder head replacements last year. They now come with port and direct injection supposedly for fuel efficiency but I suspect it's to keep the oil donuts from forming on the back of the intake valves. Many new gas engines are coming with gas particulate filters too which will be $6000+. All the techs from different brands talk to each other and nothing is really built reliable anymore. I tell everyone the same thing, drive everything, buy what you like but BUY THE WARRANTY! My wife is a service advisor and has several customers that will spend almost anything to keep their pre 2018 diesels on the road but its getting very hard to do.

I'm still running a 2014 E250 Mercedes. 40+ MPG in a full size AWD sedan.

The diesel mileage is pretty crazy. A 3 series with a 16 gallon tank would have almost a 600 mile range. All the BMW's had the CP4 pump and we did them so often I got to where I could swap everything fuel touches from tank to injectors in about 9 hours. I actually had the very first B57O in north america diesel system failure.

The funny thing is the guy with the long hair is Bendan Herrera. Never served but all his buddies are former military and joke about making medals for him all the time. I think the guy in blue is Donut Operator.
Did you just explain my own joke to me and explain it wrong? Lol

He was given the medals by the recipients, he has the medals in his possession. People send them to him from all over the world.
