How do US Marine Corps aviators differ from Navy aviators?
They both receive the same initial flight training up until they get their wings. Then the culture diverges a little bit.
You might see a Naval Aviator at the bar sweet-talking some young, good looking, trashy woman. Meanwhile, his Marine Corps counterpart will be worried about his bad breath since Marines aren’t trained to use a toothbrush. So, he might be found in the rest room eating the deodorant cake from the urinal to use as a breath mint.
And once a year the Marine will put on his camo outfit and get together with a bunch of other Marines so they can spend a few days marching in the sun, firing guns, and wallowing in the mud. The odd part is that they seem to enjoy it. Meanwhile the Naval Aviator will be sipping a Mai Tai at poolside while he admires more good-looking women.
But other than those minor differences, they’re much the same.
