1980. Stationed on Okinawa. 1972 Corolla (I think). Wife was about six months pregnant, never driven a stick. Came back to a dead battery. I show her what to do and started pushing. I would shout, “Pop the clutch,” she would and hit the brakes as soon as it fired…without disengaging the clutch. After three or four tries, I pushed the car to a slight downgrade, put her in the passenger seat and did the roll and jump start. She didn’t’t talk to me for hours.
Somewhere around the second attempt, it rained about an inch in 30 seconds.
