Snapped this picture while waiting in line at the Dutch Bros on 138th Avenue today. Turns out the young lady in line ahead of us lost her 37-year-old husband last night. When the DB guys & gals noticed she was falling apart, they stopped everything and prayed with her for several minutes, invited her to come back for prayer and support, as well as anything else that she might need. Prayers for the young family, and you know where to stop for coffee!

I'm not a religious guy.... way too secular. And jaded.
But am a big believer that basic religious precepts are a reflection of the good in humankind.
So this makes me feel good.

Dutch Bros. is here in N.W. OR. as a chain, maybe over in ID and WA. also .
They had an incident several years back over here in Eugene OR. when a Dutch Bros. Barista shot and killed an armed robber at one of there drive-up's . Dutch Bros. did not fire the employee but 'i think' they did suspend him for 30 days from work, but 'with pay' .
In this day and age of No Tolerance Co.policy that about as far as I seen anybody else go for there employees.of a coffee franchises . I was pretty surprised as Eugene is a patchouli oiled, political liberal, shithole

I read some bullshit the other week about how the wars in the ME and the muslim invasion of europe (my term, not theirs) was in part due to global warming or climate change or whatever the current phrase is.

I worked on a couple of atmospheric chemistry NCAR/NASA missions a little over a decade ago. During MIRAGE, I met all of the scientists on the mission - 153 if I remember correctly. The overwhelming opinion was that climate change was a gravy train of research money that was bound to dry up soon. I only met one researcher at MIRAGE that was preaching from his soap box about global warming. Most of the scientists agreed that we do not have enough data to make the call. Of course, they don't say that when CNN shoves a mic in their face, since that could cause the gravy train to dry up.
And about your question, most folks don't grasp the difference between weather and climate.
