Walked in the department during lunch and smelt burn.
Shop vac plug was smoking and was like goo and smoking.

Walked in the department during lunch and smelt burn.
Shop vac plug was smoking and was like goo and smoking.
That should have tripped the breaker instantly. There was more going on there.
Relative is licensed electrician, recently replaced a broken outlet at my home. Told me new commercial regulation requires ground on top due to recent fire at hospital when item fell across prongs.
First time I ever saw it was at my current office. Asked the general contractor about it and was told it was to show a union electrician did the work. Im in an open shop state with loosely enforced licencing.

NEC has no spec on how to orient the ground in relation to the hot/neutral. Can be up, down or sideways. Only thing you cannot do is put a horizontal receptacle on top of something so it is "face up" in a dwelling (residential)

I hate those upside down plugs especially when you plug in something that has the wire and plug designed to lay flat.
Electricians will run the ground on top while they need a live circuit for work. As explained, it's to prevent something from falling into the hot and neutral leads while they are working. They turn it around after the work is complete.
In the houses I've owned or rented, the ground has always been on the bottom. This is multiple houses across multiple states.

While photographing the waters in all its fury you notice a figure in the flotsam and jetsam that is struggling to survive. You peer really hard through the wind and rain and see that it is Nancy Pelosi battling for her life.
Thoughts race quickly through your mind. This could be the chance to make history and rescue the Speaker of the House and third in line for the Presidency of the United States. If you do that, you could miss out on a Pulitzer prize winning photograph of the century of a famous person seconds before she drowns. This could be the one shot that put’s your career on an exponentially lucrative trajectory. Or you could save someone’s life at great risk to your own.
So, here’s the question. In the final print for the news story, do you choose the vivid reality of full color or the timeless, classic quality of black & white?

Hovenweep National Monument has always been the place we planned to stop and see, then never managed to pull off. I bet we drove by the brown NPS signs 50 or 60 times, and just rolled on by. Finally, we followed the sign and checked out the part of the monument that's barely into UT west of Cortez, CO.
That built for speed and handling and comfort and endurance!!!!!
The Lowry Pueblo is about 20 miles north of Hovenweep in the Canyon of the Ancients National Monument.
