Supercar rally founder, coked up to the gills, decided to party it up in New York City at the height of the COVID-19 outbreak. Taking advantage of relatively empty streets, he raced his $750,000 Gemballa Mirage GT at speeds up to 110mph up and down midtown Manhattan, wrecking almost a dozen cars and completely totalling his Gemballa before being arrested. Miraculously, nobody was injured or killed.

The Gold Rush Rally is now in its eighth year and Chen is excited to bring the “rolling party’’ he helped start to his college town of Boston.
The event is a week-long cross-country adventure for auto buffs and exotic car collectors. This year, the rally kicks off from Boston’s City Hall Plaza.
“For someone from Boston who grew up here, I wanted to bring [the Gold Rush Rally] to the community, and not just to the automotive community,’’ Chen told Boston.com in a phone call.
On Friday afternoon, around 80 exotic supercars will be parked on Boston’s City Hall Plaza.
The vehicular lineup includes rare supercars like Bugattis, McLarens, Aston Martins, Lamborghinis and Mercedes-Benzes. All told, about $40 million worth of cars will be parked at Boston City Hall on Friday.
Several cars will be painted like superheroes for the Taylor Lynn Foundation, a nonprofit that offers “microgrants’’ for children in need. Superhero-themed cars expected to be at the show include Captain America, Spider-Man, Superman, the Hulk and Deadpool.

This is unacceptable. We must protect the health of workers who are called on to protect us. I stand with National Nurses United in demanding proper safety measures and equipment for nurses.

However, the reason I don't have the proper protection is because of the Obama administration deciding to not resupply the PPE equipment that was diminished under the last pandemic(BIRD FLU) (which you must be painfully aware your candidate was a part of).

Those tires were that old? Dang. Plus version I heard diagnosed as a small rise or a dip for storm drain on curb in the road on/before a curve, they lofted and lost ground contact at speed. Tragic loss Paul was good people from things I’ve heard. Rest In Peace. ?

the temperature wasnt even warm enough for summer sport tires yesterday to get up to temp.
a shaded street and 60 degrees outside they are still slick, no bite
then add to it that most of these morons get in the car and first thing is to turn off traction control..."because the car is faster"
asshole, the reason that traction control is cutting in is because you cant feel what the read end is doing (because your in over your head) and your loosing traction, so it cuts power
plus the carrera gt had very old school traction control to begin with, it wasnt even as sophisticated as the 911 of the same model year
the GT had ABS and cut power, none of the braking each tire to save your ass like cars have today
then add the carrera GT was known to be "skidish" on the edge thats why a lot of guys dont track them
and just for giggles...when cresting a hill or hump the steering wheel is strait

I didn't know about the 10 year old tires, that's fucking ridiculous. They would have no fucking grip what so ever. If I am lucky I can get my Hoosier R7s to last 17 heat cycles on sprint races here in Texas. After 12 heat cycles the tire become practice tires only as the grip sucks. Racing on the street is stupid as shit. Too many variables to take into account to risk your life.
As mentioned here many guys think adding HP makes their car fast. I have seen Miatas on track faster than Mustangs, Corvettes and Porsches; power doesn't equal skill. Another skill that is over looked is setting a car up to track it. Too many people add a super charger or turbo to a car and run around with the factory suspension or worse, pick up cheap suspension parts and making the cars geometry far worse. On top of the fact that the have never every got coaching from a pro coach. Not knocking HPDE instructors as they have a purpose, but they don't coach like a pro driver does.
