Moto GP starts in 2 hours!

Re: Moto GP starts in 2 hours!

Hell yes.. I love all motorcycle racing especially the GP lineup this year. I hope to see Spies and Rossi, and Stoner battling it out.

Re: Moto GP starts in 2 hours!

As I am a fan of Rossi (he's from 8 miles from my home town), I'd have said Stoner would have ruled this one.
But I was wrong, thankfully

Re: Moto GP starts in 2 hours!

Bah! I wish Stoner didn't go down. I'm sick of watching Rossi win. Don't get me wrong, Rossi is probably the most talented rider to ever jump on a bike. I just hope to see some new talent. Hayden has been a little disappointing the past couple of years. I'm looking forward to see what Spies can do. Edwards will always be a favorite of mine but I don't think that he has the skills to improve enough to make a difference.

I'm rooting for Stoner, Spies and Hayden this year (in that order).

Re: Moto GP starts in 2 hours!

I like Pedrasa, nothing against the American guys, although now that Hayden is riding a Ducati he may have a better showing this year. I agree Rossi is no doubt the best rider right now on a bike, but I also get tired of seeing him win all the time, and right now I think Stoner is probably his only real challenger. Can't wait for more GP races this year, I love it.

Re: Moto GP starts in 2 hours!

My dream was Rossi on a Ducati, but it is never going to happen.
Yamaha pays too well to pass on.
He won with three different bikes (Aprilia, Honda, Yamaha - not many can claim that), a fourth would have been nice to add

The Rossi edge is that not only is a good rider, but it is also very good in translating the "feel" he has of the bike, to the engineers and mechanics, which lead to a better bike tune up.
Best race of last year IMO:

Jorge Lorenzo, Rossi's teammate will challenge this year, as well as Stoner. Can't dismiss Hayden, his 2nd year on the Duc or Spies. The Honda's had the highest top speed at Qatar, bumping Hayden off the podium. The bikes seem very close and made for great racing.
When Pedrosa was Hayden's teammate at Repsol Honda, he was referred to as the Poison Dwarf.

Re: Moto GP starts in 2 hours!

Hayden had a great race to start the season. Best finish he's had an the Ducati I believe. I was looking at his stats from last year and he was at least 30 seconds from the leader in almost every race. This race he was only 2 seconds from Rossi. This could be a good year for him.

Spies also had a great first time showing.

The USA could be represented very well this season.

Are they playing all the full races this year? What about World Super Bikes? I will feel like a real prick if I just payed to watch whats on tv anyway?

Re: Moto GP starts in 2 hours!

Well in past years they have always(the best I can remember) had all the GP races. And about all the World Super Bike, now there have been times where they only showed one of the two races for the weekend.

Re: Moto GP starts in 2 hours!

Have to agree that what makes Valentino so good is his ability to translate the feel of the bike to the team. Great like King Kennie, Fast Freddie(who I copied my riding techniques from way back in the day) and Lawson were just plain awesome. The best ever? Riding over Mount Tam with Lawson on his Super Moto 250 Kawi. Only word to describe him was F-A-S-T!
I truly cannot wait to get my Sporty back and do some knee draggin here on the local twisties, but this time, I am getting the right threads and knee pucks because scabbed knees suck

Re: Moto GP starts in 2 hours!

Speed Vision would really rock if they brought back Flat Track Racing. Thus far only HD Theater has anything like it with the international FIM Speedway Gran Prix, but man those wee little bikes are well, so dang SLOW. The real dope is the newest Flat Trackers here in teh states. Team Yahama has a 676cc inline four to compete in the 750 class. Hopefully this will put some fire under HD's collective asses to get their shit in gear and make a new serious race bike. Buell was their chance but they kind of crapped on him.
Man, the sound of full twisted on cam race bikes is just pure heaven
