June/July will be busy most everywhere. That said, Ouray, CO is nicknamed "Switzerland of America" as there may be some snow on the passes in July. This was from August a few years ago:
I go there every August to Jeep.
If you are OK with some driving, fly into Jackson Hole, WY and enjoy Yellowstone and it's a nice drive up to Glacier.
Another option is to fly into Kalispell, MT (near Glacier, do that, and do an overnight in Lake Louise (Canada)
You'll win points if you stay one night at the Fairmont Chateau.
Wife and I did the Rocky Mountain NP /Yellowstone/Glacier last fall (Late September/Early October), doing a family trip out there this summer
Avoid Denver/Rocky Mountain/Estes, crowded.
PS. Book soon, everything is hard to get including car rentals. A Wrangler or convertible is what you want if cruising in the mountains.

Az is alright. Id stay in strawberry vs sholow/pinetop, but neither is “amazing”. I do like that the elk infest strawberry and come through town every day.
