I'm sure this has been covered before, but I couldn't find it doing a search.

Friend of mine has the Socom 16 version and we need to know what options there are for a picatinny rail to fit over the receiver. He want's to be able to swap between scope and reflex style sight.

+1 For Sadlak. They offer their mounts in Steel,Alum. or Titanium. Their Airborne Model is a lightened version of their steel mount designed for the 82'nd Airborne. They will also machine the mount to fit if your receiver is out of spec.

Its going to be hard to get a mount that you can swap from scope to reflex. The ARMS 18 is low profile.I have had trouble with brass hitting the under side of this mount causing a jam.I have heard you can tune the ejector if this happens. Most of the other mounts mentioned are a little higher. If possible you should barrow A mount and check it out. Some of the mounts can be pricey.

Another option is the TROY MCS. This will give the SOCOM owner a full length flat top rail similar to an AR-10.

I have used this set-up and it is very nice.
