Hello members,

I am a new member to the forums however, I've been doing some research on MPA's BA chassis. Haven't found much info if users are having issues or not with them. If anyone has experience with them I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. All comments welcomed.

Thanks in advance

The MPA Competition is one of the most popular chassis out there. They are rock solid with a lot of built in features. Hard to go wrong.

Thanks for replying, I should of been more specific. Looking at the MPA BA PCR chambered in 6.5CM.

Uses a Remington 700 Short action
X-caliber blank/MPA chambered
Trigger tech trigger

Just some specs
So you're looking at one of their complete rifles, not their chassis. Their rifles also receive a lot of good reviews however I only have experience with the chassis so I can't comment on the rifle.

They came out recently with a newer version of it, the MPA BA PMR, which utilizes a Curtis Custom action instead of the trued Remington 700. If they are both the same price (remember you can get a discount from MPA, I believe 15% off, with even a Regional PRS membership), I would opt for the Curtis Customs offering.

They should be solid rifles, however I don't have hard data to back that up. I have seen and heard of other MPA-built rifles though and they all performed as well or better than advertised.

The PCR is $1800, the PMR is at $1999. To keep the PMR under the $2k mark for production class, it’s a stripped down chassis compared to the PCR which comes with pieces like the rear monopod, muzzle break and NV mouth.

The PCR is the BA Lite chassis, the PMR is the BA Hybrid chassis. The PMR with discount should come out cheaper (once the discount codes are released), and a monopod and muzzle brake combo will run you $100-200.

Personally I would pay $100-200 more (after discount and purchasing a monopod/MB) for the Curtis Customs action compared to a trued Rem700, but that's partially personal preference. They should both shoot well, and I don't have any use for a NV bridge besides it looking cool and adding a little weight. I also don't use a monopod though since I prefer a rear bag (more stable to me), so that's more cost savings for me.
