My recent precision based MRP's built w. Rifle length chassis's, Rock 16" and 18" SS barrels, KAC 2stage match/SA-E 2stage triggers, NF nxs 2.5's (x24 on recce and x32 on SPR).

The SA-E is new but so far in comparison to the KAC 2stage it seems to break about 1 1/2 lbs. lighter and might be a touch crisper but overall I think the KAC 2stage is the nicest offering besides the G triggers Ive used.

NICE! I like these builds a lot.
Where does one find just a KAC lower? They're easily the coolest lowers I've seen. Simple traditional forging, but with ambi everything and the flush cups installed near the receiver extension.
Did you get that DBMG to fit the MRP barrels?
I didn't know that the MRP had flushcups now. My buddies just has a single scallop in that area.
Oh yeah, is that hand stippling on the pmags?

Its a Larue LT-724 that they sell in a combo w. the T-1's....I tried the DD first and its a nice piece of kit, I just opted for the QD ability with the larue. It you give it time you can get amazingly effective and fast w. a 45 degree secondary as your cheek should never leave the weld and rather just slide while you slightly cant your gun to acquire the new 1x sight picture...much faster than say powering down with a ring on a 1-4x optic.

What diffrentiates an SPR from a Recce rifle? I've always been a little unclear on that...

Recce is basically a 16" bbl SPR. I read somewhere that some SF dudes wanted a smaller package, so they had the bbl shortened. I don't think there is an "official" version.
From a lot of builds I've seen, many just consider Recce to be a precision carbine. They tend to have optics that would allow for fast up close shooting. So, like a reddot in conjunction with a variable power scope. Others will run some 1-4x scope like an accupoint or the shortdot or an aimpoint with 3x mag in a flip mount. Also they tend to not have bulky stocks or fixed stocks.
I think the popularity is because this style carbine is tactical looking but well suited towards 3-gun. Sorta a do-all AR-15.
Funny thing is that I RARELY shoot my Recce style carbine. Also funny is that I am constantly changing it's configuration. In the end I either just shoot my 14.5"(pinned to 16") or my SPR.
What gets me, is why more people don't try and build SAM-R's. They're pretty neat too.
I've got to say something. Based on my estimates, that carbine recce that you built(sans optics) cost less than an ACR basic and I'm certain it's a WAY better setup than an ACR full. It does all the things an ACR is supposed to be able to do, and it is built on a proven system by two of the most reputable companies out there. It really is a perfect mating of an upper to lower. Probably the best out of the box combo I've ever seen. I've spent many many hours trying to piece together parts for perfect builds... and here they are. <sigh>
The only thing I'd do different is use Larue SPR-S mounts and put some podlocs on those bipods.

I took em both shooting yesterday but the recce currently has all my attention so I shot it the most. Few targets and me spiffing em up.

You should try some black hills Mk262 and the black hills 75gr match.

I have shot a bit of red box bh's 77gr. smk with excellent results through my MRP SPR as well as the bh's 68gr. match HP. These Rock barrels seem to not like the 69gr. rounds. I just am a TAP T2 whore, its easily my favorite round.
Thinking about finally getting into reloading and just getting the proper setup and knowledge to load match type .223/5.56 cause some of my pals cook up some wicked stuff that I just cannot match buying commercial.
