I own a gun shop we just got opened earlier this month. I had a guy bring in a msar xm-17 e4. This one takes regular ar mags. This guy had shot a hundred rounds through it. He was concerned about the weapons ban wanted a nice shotgun so we made a trade. Ive never seen one. my cousin john had a steyer aug. he was a gun dealer when i was a kid and i always loved that gun.

I took it out today and im thourghly impressed. Pretty lite. Low recoil. Rate of fire was damn good. And the thing was not that damn loud. And ive never held a rifle standing up that was that stable. It felt great. The trigger was the weak point but i can live with it.

Coyote hunting is my thing and i think it will be great for that. So hows the durability. Parts avalibility etc. any trigger upgrades. ive heard there are different barrels. And was wondering if there is a .308 conversion. The whole thing seems pretty modular. But i could make $1200.00 putting it up on gun broker in this market. Im looking at transfering a couple more ar-s into my name before things get weird later this week. And this is different.

If I were you I would try to sell it. MSAR is out of biz. I heard ratworx bought their tooling though so maybe you could get parts there. CHeckout ratworx website for more details or contact them. From what I have heard some parts are interchangeable witht the steyr and some are not.

Yeah i got a rock river lower with a dpms 16 inch bull upper coming in. That would make a geat yote gun as well. I may list it

Re: Msar xm-17 e4

I've got one of their earlier STG's. I've probably got somewhere in the neighborhood of 3-400 rds through it. The trigger is the downside to the bullpup design. I installed a Trigger Tamer and it works as advertised. http://www.triggertamer.com/

As far as .308, I don't think they made one. KelTec did/does(?) I never shot one but have seen a couple guys shooting them in a tac carbine match. It seemed to run fine but I don't have any trigger time with one. It was odd, ejecting out the front...

Re: Msar xm-17 e4

Bill Springfield has Triggerworks in Colorado that does a nice job on the triggergroup. Ratworx is a good supplier. I like the gas adjustment for surpressed & the bullpup design for handling the big Surefire mags. Not sure a heavy barrel is needed for yotes - I would turn over the ARs at this point in time for max $$ Good luck with the new shop, OK 8>)

Re: Msar xm-17 e4

MSAR has spooled back up and are making these things currently. We are a dealer for em and have sold a few of em lately. Haven't shot one but I've handled em in the store. They seem like a solid rifle. We sold one in a few hours last week on Gunbroker when the madness began. They will offer (if they haven't already) that rifle in 300 Blk Out according to our paperwork.
