I am doing a Rem. 700 build (700 Tac-AAC-SD, Bushnell Elite 6-24x50, Nightforce Mounts, AICS stock) and I was considering and a Muzzle brake.

I want it for functionality and astetics. Since it is only a .308, I really don't need it, but I like the look.

I don't want it to affect the accuracy of the gun.

Do I need to have it installed a alligned by a gunsmith as they claim on the "E Arthur Brown Company's" web-site.

What are your opinions?

Re: Muzzle Brake/Compensator Installation Question

My opinion is it should be installed by a gunsmith. That is the best way to get the correct fit for it. Does it mean that is the only way to do it? No it doesn't. Many people have installed them with shims if they are ported and have to be timed.
