I want to install a brake on a .750 FN barrel. Usually I use a Badger Thruster but I would have to trim it down quite a bit to match the barrel dia of .750. Any other brake options that would go with a barrel that size?
If you don't mind the brake standing out, you can taper the back of the brake to match the barrel OD, rather than turning the entire brake down to the barrel OD. Functionally, the brake will be more effective and robust.
I make a 3 baffle side port that is .750 dia.
Getting in a new lot tommorow, 1/2x28 tpi they look just like the 1" dia. CSR brake only smaller dia., and shorter port hieght.
I did not see what caliber this rifle is, I'm assuming its a 308. I always try to stay around 5/8 x 24 or larger. Sometimes removing too much material on the muzzle is not a good idea.
I have Vais make my brakes with a 5/8 x 24 TPI instead of their TPI just because if a customer ever wants to put something else on like a Can or another flash hider or even a thread protector they wont have to have an adapter made.
I agree Mark, but this particular break sees a lot of use on sporter factory hunting rifles and this necesitates the smaller thread tennon. My .875" and 1" brakes have larger tennons.
