Here it is-
• Rem. 700 LA 280 Ackley
• Krieger #6 Barrel 26”
• Badger 20 moa one piece base
• Badger DBM
• McMillan A5 stock
• Badger 34mm rings
• S&B PMII 3x12 cm click double turn
• Cerakote in desert tan
• GAP tactical bolt knob
The rifle is finally done. It has been a useable project that I have been slowly upgrading the last two years. It shoots real well and I will be posting some target pics when I get them.

Re: My 280 Ackley

Looks nice, Nick!

Are you going to try some of those 162gr A-MAXs in it?

What is the twist?

Re: My 280 Ackley

You might have to change your mind about coming up for the long shot hunt in October. Gonna be a lot of new toys this year!

Re: My 280 Ackley

I haven't tried the 180 vld. I dont think my barrel twist is right. I am going to try the 162 A-Max
might even shoot tomorrow afternoon if I get time.

How can I make the pictures bigger?

Re: My 280 Ackley

fireforming your brass or using nosler preformed brass? thinking about building a .280 improved once my .25-06 barrel is gone.

Re: My 280 Ackley

Its about time you put a real stock on that rifle Nick, now you just need to learn how to shoot that bad boy!!!

Re: My 280 Ackley

PGS, Now that is a nice looking rifle!

I have a Lefty 280AI in the works as well; Rem 700 donor action. Rock creek s/s barrel (medium Palma taper, 1:8.7" twist), Manners composite stock, Williams bottom metal, Jewell trigger, etc.

I just got to get the the lathe, blueprint the action, thread and chamber the barrel, etc. Then it will need paint. I like your paint scheme.

Re: My 280 Ackley

you just bend the ears on the mag in a tiny bit on each side. That was per George at GAP. It worked great. feeds real smooth!

Re: My 280 Ackley

Nice looking gun. hoping mine will end up there one day. Just at the start of my build, a slow work in progress. Started with a 280 rem, had the action blue printed, the bolt sleeved, and a badger bolt knob installed. Ordered a 26" Pacnor 3 groove 9" twist barrel and chambered it to 280 ackley. I have been shooting the 168 bergers. So far I'm averaging 2850 fps with R22. Has anyone tried H1000? Is Retumbo to slow?

Re: My 280 Ackley

Not sure, I am shooting the 168 as well. running 2840 w/ VV N165.
R22 shot really accurate for me but was in the 2700's. I am going to try the 162 A-Max, the BC is accually higher than the 168 Berger now that they re-figured their B.C.'s
I have not tried the H1000. N160 is surpose to be good too. let me know what you find out.
Keep in touch,
