She's gotten her first bb gun tonight. I want to gauge her interest, and abilities before I buy a Cricket .22 rifle for her for her birthday in a couple months. She was really excited to get it. I just picked it up today, and ran down to Manners to throw some pink on it for her. I rushed the job, so it's not that great, but she doesn't notice the things I do. If she gets a cricket, it's going to get a "da-bomb" paint job, likely a 3 color pink digi or something along those lines, flektarn possibly.

Did I mention that my wife is not really pleased?? lol. I tell my wife that we didn't have any boys, so she doesn't have a leg to stand on in the discussion.

Nothing better than getting them started young. Make sure when you let her shoot the Cricket to have good ear protection and make some real good targets like shaken hot soda cans, lemons, eggs etc. They will make for a good time.

I took my daughter(She is 6) out for the first time, two weeks ago, she had a blast.. We were shoothing cans, and Balloons we blew up.. She can't wait to go again, were going this sunday. I got her the .22 Ruger in a pink camo color, she loves it.. I did have to get Pink ear muffs, as well as, a matching Pink camo outfit for her, but hey, whatever it takes right..

You're welcome.. I blew them up the night before, and put them in a big plastic bag.. Shooting paper for the kiddies isn't all that fun, hey I even had fun shooting the ballons. This way, they(The kiddies) know they hit them.. lol

Just remember that match grade ammo is cheaper than bail or drug rehab . And girls don't care if the paint is perfect as long as it came from Daddy

my daughter is almost 4 and asks to go shoot with me all the time, it won't be long i'll be buying her one as well. very nice.

Awesome!

My first bbgun was a surprise to my mom and I still remember the look of shock she gave my dad when I opened the package.

Good on ya for not caving to the fairer sex in this instance. Though, in most cases I recommend it. haha.

I have a feeling that your daughter will be the only kid on the block that knows how to stack for a dynamic entry at a Tali safehouse as well

That is outstanding guys. I have 3 daughters that have learned to shoot with a chipmunk 17 hmr. My youngest is 8 and is consistently ringing steel at 200y. The wife has a cz 452 17 so not much problem with the shooting with dad. Rthur

I bought my son his first BB gun when he was two! My wife couldn't believe I did it and when she was ranting to my mom about it my mom told her that there was nothing wrong with it. The kids in our family always got a BB gun early and some got them before they were born. He is now almost 4 and shooting it well. I just bought my other son one since he is almost two. We are expecting our first girl any day now and of course she too will get a BB gun early. My oldest is 16 (1st marriage) and when he was 5 got a Cricket so the others will get one too. I am looking forward to seeing the same smile your daughter as on my daughter in the future!

Your doing a great job. A Daughter that knows how to shoot is worth their weight in Gold to the lucky man that can marry her.

She can't get enough of Hunting and she is now carrying my Grand Daughter and I can't wait. While the women folk go look for clothing for the baby, Granpa is looking and dreaming of the Rifles she will need.

Just got back inside from shooting with Katelyn, and she's a excellent shot already. She missed her first shot, and I made a adjustment to her technique, and she hit, and kept hitting after that! I shot some video, i'll get that put together. She's still working on the muzzle control after the excitment of getting a hit, but she's getting better and better. By the end of our session, she wasn't swinging around after a hit. Her sister wanted in on the action too, but she's still a little too young right now (2 y.o.).

Dude, that's awesome. Our Son got his Cricket for Cristmas when he was 4 months old and a Bolt 22 for his first birthday. He is about ready for a BB gun to prove he is ready for the 22 (he is 3 now).

Our soon to be here daughter will have the same opportunity (but all her stuff wil be pink, of coarse).
