I thought i would share a couple pics of my little girls new long range rig, My dad (her grampa) got it for her for the baby shower lol. Does anyone know of aftermarket stocks for these? She is now a year and a half, im starting to teach her about guns and safety kind of like the hot/cold with kids lol. I think were gonna do a setup as follows:

McMillan a5 stock
s&b optics
Knights armament can
Timney trigger
Badger bdm

and yes its a cricket lol

Re: My daughters new long range rig

Well shes gotta learn about rifles and guns in general. Shes raised around them and i think she will be just fine. Start em at a young age, plus she sits here on my lap with me while we search the hide and read articles and look at all the gun porn haha

I got one for my daughter that is ss with a pink laminated stock. Nothing wrong with teaching them young .....I'm doing the samething with mine. She will be 3 in Oct .

Re: My daughters new long range rig

Just a quick warning - My daughter got one about 4 years ago and had the firing pin pierce the case of a Remington 22lr case. Blew hot gasses in her face. Outside of scaring the shit out of both her and me, she was fine.

Cricket inspected it and the cases - sent a new rifle but said to fire only Federal becouse they are harder brass (I guess Remmy's are soft) and how strong the firing pin spring is. She still shoots it today. Good rifle and squared away company.

Enjoy your time shooting with your daughter!

thank you for the heads up, ill make sure to fire federal out of it then. Im way to over protective as it is and if that happened i might try n go crazy on someone lol

Very Cool! I started teaching my step-daughter at a young age. She loved shooting my Am-180 (with me holding the front grip of course!). I have another one on the way, so she'll enjoy it again! Now she's old enough to handle it by herself. She also enjoys shooting my Walther P-22 with the suppressor on it.

Re: My daughters new long range rig

I decided to start my daughter with a BB gun till she learns more about safe gun safety. One downside is that it is hard to work the lever and the trigger sucks.

Of course she wants everything to be pink so I worked it over. I did learn one thing. I will never paint my own guns. I will definitely send them out to a pro.

Re: My daughters new long range rig

Wed got baby Kelley one when she was 2.5, we had been talking about getting her one of the crickets with pink lam stocks and happened to run across one for like $150ish so went ahead and got it for her. She is 4 now and every time we go to the range we gotta make sure her rifle is in the truck also. While she has a short attention span now she does like to shoot but loses interest quickly. She usually gets bored with hers and wants to shoot daddy's rifles. lol I could only imagine how I would explain to the daycare people how she got a perfectly round eye from shooting a 300WM or 308. I figure if you get the curiosity out of the way young you will more than likely not have a problem with them when they get older and more curious which would lead to the child getting ahold of a weapon and pointing at one of their friends that do not know any better.

I completely agree.

All I have left of my dad is memories and some of the best memories are him teaching me to shoot his 1903-a3 when I was 8. I can't wait until my kids are old enough to take out and teach the fundamentals.
