Re: MY FIRST GAP HAS ARRIVED
Thanks. I never could figure out how to put the pic on my posts. I have two other beautiful guns and the target for this GAP build. I am going to add the build sheet for the GAP.
GA Precision Rifle Build, Like Your “CRUSADER”
Ken, this is my build sheet check list.
Gear I am sending to you;
1. Obermeyer AMU Plus barrel, Stainless Steel, 5R, 1:11 twist. Barrel is 25 inches long unfinished. I want the barrel length to be 23 overall (22 inches from the recoil lug) same as Crusader.
2. (AICS) Stage 1.5, fixed stock, green.
3. Atlas Bipod and an Accu-Shot Monopod.
4. Leupold MK4, M1 fixed 16X Mil Dot scope and rings.
5. Pelican rifle case.
Everything else will come from or be performed by GA Precision;
1. GAP to do all the barrel work, thread and chamber barrel for .308, cut to final length of 22 inches from the recoil lug, recess / cut the crown, mount to templar action. I shoot federal 168 gr. and 175 gr. M118LR military sniper issued ammunition.
2. “Templar” short action, for right hand shooter. Also a 20 MOA rail attached with 8-40 screws.
3. Precision ground over sized recoil lug double pinned to receiver.
4. The best (GAP recommended) Trigger. Set the trigger pull weight as you see fit for this gun. Light is good.
6. GA Precision to bed the Templar barreled action into the aluminum block inside the AICS. “You guys have this down to a science”, so do what you do best.
7. GA Precision to paint the AICS skins, stock and all metal parts that can be painted on the rifle with your matte Cerakote, mil spec O.D. The paint scheme is the camouflage pattern on the Crusader.
8. If you could, please replace the foam in the pelican case so the rifle has a custom fit. I would like it to look like it was made for it, if possible.
