My New Rifle! Pics up!

As many of you know, it is hard for me to hold on to a rifle for more than a few months. I had been planning on completing my M40A3, but after long thought, I decided that I did not want to have to spend $3000 on a scope, among other things.

Here is the new Idea:

700 action/ trued, tuned up ect. LA precision

Kreiger 22" barrel

Jewel trigger

Mcmillan A5 sniper fill with adjustable cheekpiece and Tacops cheek pad/ Marine Tex'd grip and forend

Badger M5 detatch. mag w/ 5 round mag


My same Nightforce 3.5-15

I am going to try a bolt by az precision this time. Going with the phoenix.

Some sweet bolt work by Kampfeld custom

Nightforce rings and base


I would LOVE to have my rifle coated by birdsong's finish, but I am not sure that I want to wait that long.

I will have pics posted up as the project comes together.

SCC S/O where do you shoot? Your rifle looks fine the way it is unless you are having feed or accuracy issues. I had the A5 and prefer the A1-3 personally.

To be honest I think I would really like the A1-3. Its a sweet looking stock. I think I may use that for my next build.
There is a range really close to my home in Santa Cruz.

I've always liked the A5 stock with that camo. Nice looking gun.

I had an eagle, and it was sweet! But I do like the Tacops a bit more. They come with an extra long strap for the middle strap.

I am not sure I need 8 rounds by my side, but I guess it couldn't hurt.

I have several of the Eagle packs , I'd like to get one without the bag...be handy for swappin from right to left hand shooting...

I made one with an american flag on it where the bullet holders were, and it was pretty neat. I think you should make something like that!

Hows it feed with that M5?
I've been thinking of getting one for my .243. But I shoot off a pack a lot and I worry about the mag getting in the way.

It feeds perfect. I can push the mag in all directions and put pressure on it and it will not misfeed.

I had to massage the feed lips on my .243 for reliable feeding just a little bit. Took me about an hour to do all 5 magazines with snap caps and dummy rounds in my living room. YMMV.

It is an inexpensive EGW. I am looking at a Nightforce or Badger base for the final one.

Banshee has a A1-3 and I really like it. For the most part, I am an A2 or HTG man, but that A1-3 is really nice with that modified forend.
