My OCW groups are....too good?

For a 6.5CM out of the MRAD on a new barrel

After a 400y ladder test I selected the charge ranges that showed promise and made smaller incrementally charged rounds to do an OCW test with. Shot the rounds yesterday in both an OCW test as well as individual groups just to make sure I didn't see anything weird.

The problem was, they were all basically less than/around .5MOA or 1 hole groups. The only variation I noticed was that some of the groups where you are able to put together where the individual rounds went though the paper, was that some seemed to have rounds 'opening' the group going a bit horizontal and some had vertical differences. Can this be what determines a better load range as in the vertical variances are a difference in velocity/barrel whip/harmonics/etc and the horizontal rounds are just me/my POA?

I feel like I'm splitting hairs here; the good news is I don't think I'd need to do a seating depth test as I probably won't even notice any difference. From the results, I'm thinking I should just take the 2nd highest charge, as the highest showed 0 pressure and shot fantastic.

Sounds like a problem rifle that wont comply with our desire to dicker with shit.

Dont try to fix it, you will never suceed.

Send it to me, Ill suffer its non compliance.

If you dont like my first suggestion my second is to

    1. Remove the rifle from the stock

    2. Place a small rock in the barrel channel

    3. Replace BA into stock

    4. Shoot a fucked up looking OCW

    5. Pick the best group of the bunch

    6. remove rock from barrel channel

    7. Shoot sub 1/2 MOA groups and congratulate yourself on your outstanding reloading skills.

You forgot 'Turn the scope sideways but still use the top turret for elevation'.

Does it need to be more of a flat rock, or a pointy one?

I thought you would prefer German helmet to ant eater but your preference.

Always a good idea to coat your rod before you use it so everything stays clean.

This is why I don't believe in the OCW method. I've seen too much weird shit go on with rifles that can change POI and more times than not my rifles have shot the same POI for different charges during development.

IMO a ladder test at 400-600 yards or ladder test over a reliable chrono to find nodes is best. Then accuracy test promising loads at 100 yards testing seating depth as well as shoot over chrono for ES/SD. Then confirm at distance on steel.

    Rule # 289 of shooting.

Stop trying to do multiple OCW tests of the same rounds.

Hurried up yesterday and went shooting and decided to do yet another OCW of the same rounds as I had some left over and wanted the formed brass. Sure enough, I was in a hurry, and psy'd myself out on the load that was always spectacular and pulled 2 shots in ONLY THAT CHARGE that I know for a fact I pulled. lol

I also picked up on something I never really realized before. Apparently when I get pissed while shooting, the amount of force to pull the bolt back when ejecting a round goes up by about 3000%.
