Picked up my first Remington 700 (.308 Varmint) a couple months ago and I absolutely love it! Took some pictures and video of it. It's got a Leupold Mark 4 Mild-Dot 4.5x14 scope and Harris Bi-pod. Still have the factory SPS stock but looking to upgrade to the AICS chassis soon. There's also some video of us shooting my buddies .50 cal.

Watch in HD for best quality.

And yes, the wife loves it as well.

That's the rifle I started with and still use. I put mine in a B&C Light Tactical medalist stock, 30 MOA EGW base, Warne Tactical rings, and a Vortex HS 30 mm 6.5-20 With my handload of Hornady 168BTHP, 43.5 AA 2520 @ 2.820" it does .3 moa all day long. 35.5 MOA drop @ 1000. I did replace the trigger with a Timney set at 1-3/4#. It shot FGMM 168 right around the 1/2 moa mark. Have fun with it, treat it right and it will shoot a pretty long time before needing a re-barrel. And yes I agree with the above post. Your wife is Hot!

No offense dude but I just looped the part with your wife in it.

Ha ha, none taken. Girls with guns are a sexy thing.

But yeah, I'm excited to get out and shoot it more. It just sucks that the limited ammo I have is basic 147gr Magtech. Plus i'm not willing to fork out an arm and a leg for quality ammo. I'd like to hand load but reloading supplies are even harder to come by. Oh well, such is life.

I've been getting 168 gr HPBT from Freedom Munitions. They have a variety of sizes. They sell either new or re-manufactured, and I've been shooting the reman's. Obviously you'll get better results with higher quality ammo, and better with handloads, but these have worked well as I've gotten into long range/precision shooting. Started off with a Rem 700 5R .308, and now I've moved to a .308 on a Rem 700 action trued on a custom barrel. Gotten results as good as .5 MOA with the ammo. I won't be satisfied with those results in the long run, but it's nice to know that I'll be able to improve considerably once I start handloading (which hopefully happens within the next couple of weeks). If you're interested, go to their website and see if they have any in stock, but I know they stopped taking orders online during the height of the "craze". I may be going by there within the next week, so I could pick you some up if you pay for the shipping.

Oh, and find $200 somewhere, and go to Jewell Triggers at GreatScottShooters.com and get yourself a Jewell trigger. In my humble opinion, based on your set up, you'll see the biggest results from it, 2nd in line to handloads. I'd buy one before you get the chassis. Good luck with it!
