A little here, a little there
Finally got to the range today with my neighbor. First chance to get out in between thunderstorms after I got the rifle put together.

My neighbor shot this 5 shot group with my rifle. (Yeah, he shot better than I did yada. yada, yada). Bipod, no rear bag. Measured .820. Don't know what happened to his 5th shot, a little high to the right. Only one not touching the others.

Also shot the .45's at the 100 yd target. What was the purpose for that? Just havin fun. But man it was hot today.

Might want to look at the rules on posting groups, here's an excerpt...<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Lowlight</div><div class="ubbcode-body">
Sniper's Hide Group Shot Policy v2 2010

In an effort to increase awareness and increase proficiency in shooting, Sniper's Hide is modifying its group shot policy from this point forward. It is every members responsibility to understand and follow this policy in order to make the site a better place. This is not meant as an attack on anyone or any company based on their accuracy standards, merely a way to help each of us be a better shooter.

From this day forward I am deleting any 3 shot groups, and especially any groups that are groups within a group.

So here are the revised rules for posting groups on Sniper's Hide.

1. You must show the Entire target unedited.

2. Inside 300 yards you must post at least <span style="color: #FF0000">(4) 5 shot groups that can be identified on target</span> or you may post (1) 10 shot group for record. I will also accept (6) 3 shot groups on the same paper or target.

3. Anything beyond 300 yards a minimum of 5 shots is required. Please note Rule #1 about the unedited target.

Re: My rifle initial sight in 5 shot group

Not to run afoul of the powers that be...but these rules have cost us collectively a good number of wonderful full, honest targets. Few will shoot four (4) five shot groups on a single 300 yard target, fewer 10 shots groups on a single target. I had a great series of 200 yard subsonic .308 targets cross my desk (16" barreled, suppressed) and could post not a single one.

The actual end result is just as you see it....nothing posted, nothing learned, nothing gained.

With the vast majority of members desiring actual shooting data (as compared to Barbie Builds) what exactly were we trying to "fix" here? I'll take 50 partial pridefully posted targets over ONE baby peering through a "gun shop, tag still attached" rifle pic.

Iaretat20, nice shooting...I, for one, have ZERO problem trusting you on the rest of the target. Better yet, put on a tee shirt and take a picture of yourself holding up a cigarette lighter, we allow those pics all day long and you can expect a lot of comments too.

Re: My rifle initial sight in 5 shot group

Pics are on the Manners T-4A photo page. The barrel and action are Remington 700. Came off a VLS 1-12" twist standard. Put a Manners T-4 stock on it with the DBM, adjustable cheek piece from Karten, Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25 FFP, sent the bolt to GAP to install the bolt knob.

I did the glass bedding job myself from the recoil lug back.

Re: My rifle initial sight in 5 shot group

Thanks RollingThunder51. Actually my neighbor shot the group.

The rest of the target was used to get the scope sighted in. In all honesty they're all over the target. Shot the group after I had it sighted in because I was tired of shooting and it was about 95 and humid, sweating our asses off.
