Re: My Tikka finally all put together
Well if it was only the rain it would be fine. It is the wind that is delaying me. And "Icelandic" wind can be quite strong.
Tikkas are very common here in Iceland. I bought this rifle a recently. I had previously ordered a Savage LRP in 260 Rem but I gave up on the wait. I had seen this rifle in the shop since last December so I made the decision to cancel the Savage and go with the Tikka. Don't regret that.
From what I read on this forum, and others, you don't get many options in calibers for the Tikka in the US. It's is relatively easy to get whatever caliber Tikka makes here in Iceland. Tikka Varmint in 6,5 x 55, 308, 2506 and other are very common. The 260 Rem is not a common caliber here, in fact it is not well known. I get a lot of questions on a local forum about it. That is probably the reason it was still sitting in the shop when I bought it.
