Thanks man. I wouldn't piss her off...she can shot. It was about 10-12mph winds. The 208gr amax cuts through the wind very easily.

Re: MY WIFE 1,000 YARD SHOT!!!

Cool! My wife was pretty pleased with herself when she hit a frozen one-gallon jug at 1,007 yards, and so was I. We shoot together a lot, and she's consistently better than I am with a shotgun. A nice side benefit is the selection of guns as gifts - she even gave me a 44 magnum "just because" when she got her last bonus. Of course, I still do all the reloading...

Re: MY WIFE 1,000 YARD SHOT!!!

JoeDiesel I love your youtube site Ford vids! My last one was in a 2000 van, a 7.3. It is on its 3rd owner within my circle now with 290K on it and is still going strong with the original tranny too. Unfortunately a local in the group here has a later van with the 6.0 which is in now with a $3500 and mounting tab with under 100k on it.

Hard to believe they can keep making them worse and worse as far as self imploding over simple issues that were worked out in other engines decades ago.

Re: MY WIFE 1,000 YARD SHOT!!!

You guys with wives that shoot are lucky! My wife is starting to come around after years of work. She has started to come to the range a bit with me. Once I get the MK12 mod0 done she said she would try a comp with me. I showed her a picture of LHGina's rifle and now she wants the MK12 to have flowers on it. I told her to want in one hand and shit in the other but we could build her own that I would put flowers on.

Re: MY WIFE 1,000 YARD SHOT!!!

Moroni - you picked a good rifle for her to start with.

My GF made her first rifle shots with the Mk 12 Mod 0 at 565 yards. I dialed the elev and gave her the wind call, then she proceeded to bang progressively smaller steel targets - fox, rabbit, and crow - first round hits.

Her first match was a mirror of the Guard combat course of fire, again shooting the Mk 12. The shooters were allowed to be helped/coached as it was an introductory match. As we drove up to the range she said, "gee I hope I can at least hit the target..."

She cleaned the 500 slow prone, 500 rapid prone, 300 rapid prone, and dropped just a few points standing rapid/kneeling rapid/sitting rapid at 200, beating me in kneeling in the process, winning the optic class and coming in second place overall behind me shooting a NM AR service gun with irons. A few bruised male egos watched with less than amusement at the awards ceremony that day.

Her success with the rifle though is heavily attributed to the marksmanship basics she mastered shooting 10M air pistol.

Good luck getting your wife spun up to speed with the Mk 12.

Yes,any thing that the govt want for emissions for diesel is killing the diesel engine power and its reliability.
