So I get a call from an industry friend that says she has a LEO trade in suppressor she thinks I might be interested in for a bolt gun build I am working on. I get there and see this monster. It is stamped "SJM O.C., OR ABYSS .30 PA19" and from both of our estimates has maybe 100 rounds through it.

But that's all the info we could muster.

So hoping you folks can shed some light on manufacturer, maybe when it was made, etc. Basically any info you got, I would be grateful.

What kind of paperwork accompanies it? I'm wading out into an area I know little about, so take what I'm saying with caution, but I believe LE organizations acquire NFA items with a form 5 or form 10. That should list the manufacturer and basic info. There's still a paper trail back to the ATF. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Ran into this before. I have a 22 suppressor thats marked ballistics specialties. I've googled it and nothing comes back.
There's a lot of manufacturers out there like that. If you can test shoot it before and it works for you and the price is right go for it.

Thanks, really just curiosity killing this cat. Was wondering mainly decibel levels without buying any testing equipment. Nice to know it's not just me though.
