I obtained some N565 ,told to treat it like Re#26 . 140gr Nosler RDF started at 55.5 worked my way up to 56.7 . Shooting out of a Bergara Premier ridgeback ,all loads were under 3/4 MOA . 56.7 average velocity was 3,020 FPS SD of 8.3 also producing a 1/2 MOA group. Local Scheels has it at $39 bucks a lb.

Just started some load dev with VV N565 in 6.5 PRC and am seeing good numbers for Hunter Hammer 124gr and Berger 156gr EOL in a short action. A plus is that this is a very clean burning powder. I’ll be confirming some nodes and jump on Sunday and will fill in details by EOD.

Prelim data for the Hunter Hammer 124gr @ 60.0 gr yields 3168fps @ 0.25 moa; 2.90 COAL; New ADG Brass; 210M primer
Prelim data for Berger 156gr EOL @ 59.0gr yields 2988fps @ 0.44moa. Light pressure signs so will drop to another node at 57.0 for further testing.
These were 3 shot ‘groups’ so basically inconclusive. Also new brass. Next wave of info will be with 1X brass and 5 shot groups. I know, 10 shot groups are the gold standard but this is a hunting rifle and each of these shots is on a 3 minute interval.

nice numbers with the 156 g .... I have this powder but have not played with it in 6.5 PRC yet. only in creed. I definitely will be trying this load but I would like to build it on the 143g eld-x ... will try the h1000 as well.

Ive been posting in the reloading thread on my load dev...

I run it in two prc's both with new barrels with less than 30 rounds each and using ADG brass and Br2 primers.
My hunting rig with a 25" barrel and 140 vld-h is running 58.5 grains at 3050 very accurately and i get a faint ejector mark at 60.1 @3157
My comp rig runs a 29" barrel 59.2 grains gets me 3087 with a 153.5 berger and no trace of pressure yet. With 4 shots (58, 58.4, 58.8, and 58.2 it printed a .403" group.
Really liking this powder so far!

I would not treat N565 like RL 26, think 26 is a slower powder. That said, N565 if it works for you should be a great match for 6.5 PRC. I am only going off logic here, I tried N565 in 25 saum and found it to be a tad fast for my liking. All the while wishing I had built a 6.5 saum, for finding slow powders was a pain at the time.

I spoke with one of Berger’s load data techs about the 156 EOL and the numbers they gave me suggest RL26 is a bit faster than N565, and that H1000 is a bit slower.

They recommended the following:
6.5PRC / 156EOL / 2.955 COAL / 26” barrel

RL26 Min 52.0 - 2677 fps. Max 57.8 - 2944 fps
N565 Min 53.5 - 2629 fps. Max 59.7 - 2930 fps
H1000 Min 54.5 - 2644 fps. Max 60.4 - 2936 fps

Update on N565 load data for the 156 EOL in 6.5PRC:

I got light pressure signs at 59.0 so have now backed it down to:
57.5 gr N565, COAL 2.95, Avg 2903fps 0.48 moa. This is in 1X ADG brass with 210M primers. Jump to lands is ~ 0.065” in a 0.130” freebore chamber.
The Hunter Hammer 124gr in 1X brass is still grouping well at 0.38 moa at 3190fps. That load is 60.0gr N565, 2.90” COAL, jump is ~0.025”.
