If you don't cut into the shoulder slightly, you will have the dreaded dougnut. That ridge will transfer to the inside after your first firing, and it will pinch the bullet. Read up on the subject in the benchreast circles. Good luck, JPG
Could someone post a link to the best tutorial for neck turning or come up with one? Does anyone have any pictures of properly neck turned brass... As this would be most beneficial.
If you shoot much you'll develop a donut any way. I just use a reamer to cut it out when it becomes noticable.
Look on Sinclair's site and order "The Benchrest Shooter's Primer". It has dozens of ways to do almost anything pertaining to brass prep. I don't know that any are right or wrong. Just different.
