I realize this is a very specific question that mandates a similarly specific answer, but hopefully someone can help. If anybody has a Rem.700 with a 17.5" bbl and a Surefire MB762SSAL/RE brake, could you please measure how long the bbl is from the rear surface of the recoil lug to the rear-most part of the brake? I'm asking since I'm hoping such a combo will fit in the McRee chassis I have and leave enough room to eventually mount the matching Surefire can. As best as I can figure, I SHOULD have enough room by an inch or so, but confirmation would be good. Heck, if someone has an 18" gun with that same brake and measures from the same spot, that would be good too since I can do enough cyphering to subtract 1/2" on my end...
