Need a quality vest to hold ar/ak mags and sidearm any suggestions

I am looking for a quality vest that will hold some ar/ak mags and a sidearm.anyone have suggestions?

So you probably don't need a plate carrier type vest. I know NOMAD is selling a load bering type vest in the FS - Misc area. Adding a couple mag pouches and a pistol pouch or using a g-code holster might be one solution?

I love my USPalm stuff and G-Code is the way to go on a sidearm.

I got a couple of these this spring: Kalashnikov Gunfighter Rig

AK, AR or 308 auto. What more could a guy want? I went for the strap upgrade but no hydro carrier.

be sure to consider the basic Chicom AK rig. Mucho bang for the buck in that rig.

Agree with that but if you want that rig SKD is now selling their improved version: PIG UCR (Universal Chest Rig) very well made and a great value IMHO. Mag pouches fit 2 - 5.56 or 1 - 7.62

I had one of the chest rigs before the product was taken to Eagle. As SKD sells it, it is a good product for sure. I dont care for the weight out front, items stacked onto the front of the rifle mags. I use one mag pouch as open top, and prefer to have the rest under good, secure flaps.

For the OP, Ive never tried running my tractor with a chest rig on. Have to assume your use would be no different than "mounted" operations of the non-farm type ;-) I think in the long run, you will like the less is more approach. Wearing all the cool guy stuff gets pretty boring when there is nobody around to shoot at.......

Why not try a battle belt? With suspenders if needed. Great for a couple mags and holster. You could even go cross draw if you are sitting most of the day. Just food for thought.
