If you have used the Bushnell 4200 AND 6500 series Scopes... Please Reply.

I am in the market for a new Optic to use on a ridiculous 10/22 I had made for me by Kidd. I need a scope with A.O. that focuses down to 10-yards.

I am considering: Bushnell 6500: 2.5-16x, 42mm.

The inital reviews of the 6500 series, when they first came out, seemed to say the same thing. Optically, the 4200 is the better view. I do have a few 4200's and think that when available, they were a tremendous value.

I have not used a 6500 series or the latest generation "Elite" series.

For those who have, What are your thoughts??

Re: Need Help - Bushnell 6500 Scope

I have own three 6500 Elite 2.5-16X. One is the tactical model. I also owned a 4200 a couple of years ago. These use to be a very good price point vs features scopes. I noticed now that the price on the 6500's have gone up quite a bit. The last 6500 I bought I paid $550 for it. A lot of scope for that price...not so much at the current price.
One of the things I REALLY like about the 6500 is the broad magnification range. I have these on my hunting rifles and to me they are perfect for the hunting I do.

If you can find one at a good price, I would say buy it. I have no complaints with the three I own.

Take care,Stan

Re: Need Help - Bushnell 6500 Scope

I used to own a 6500 2.5-16x42 and I now have a new Elite Tactical 3-12x44 FFP. Glass to me seems the same but I have not looked at them side by side. Both are excellent scopes.

Re: Need Help - Bushnell 6500 Scope

I have a 6500 Tactical 4.5-30 and two 3200 Elite 5-15. The glasses are all excellent for the money I paid. I cannot tell any difference between the 6500 and 3200. No experience with 4200. Worth the money

Re: Need Help - Bushnell 6500 Scope

I have the kidd supergrade # 55, I had a 2.5-16 6500 on it but it was more weight and $$ than needed. A bushnell 3500 4-12 is a perfect scope for the rifle and the AO also goes to 10 yds. Since the rail is 0 moa I shimmed the rings with epoxy to be able to get to 200 yds
