I have been going back and forth on this for the last couple of days, and still can't come to a solid conclusion! I am ordering a Tac Ops drag bag, and I can't decide on a length. Shorter seems like it would make it more handy- which is the point, as I am looking to get away from carting my Storm to the range.

Here is the thing- the short will accommodate a length up to 43 inches. My AW will just barely make it when my 20" barrel comes in, it won't make the cut with the current 26" barrel. If I had the long bag, I could fit a longer barrel (I might go longer than 20" when I get a .260 barrel,) and I could also fit my rifle with the suppressor mounted into the long bag, which would be handy.

I just don't want the bag to be too big and bulky, other than that, the large bag makes sense.

Input?

You currently have a 26" barrel, getting 20" for suppressed, and will get 26" 260 in future? I've gone back and forth over this for the last couple seconds and have come to the conclusion that you need the long one......LOL

I have the TacOps long bag - fantastic kit. Yeah, my "short" rifles have a few inches to spare, but it's not a problem and does not seem bulky. The restraining system holds them secure and don't slide around. My "longer" rifles fit perfect suppressed. No regret having the long bag.

I have a Eagle multicam drag bag from Triad Tactical for my AI AW 26 inch barrel and it might as well be custom fit. There is no wasted space which keeps the rifle firmly in place. Strapping the rifle in place is optional because of the great fit.

All material including the trim pieces are multicam except for one piece. That piece is the drag loop which is light brown. I much prefer multicam gear when multicam trim pieces are used vs OD and so on. The bags stand out less when they are all multicam.

The Eagle bag has a few less features than the Tac Ops bag but I believe it is trimmer and lighter. I am not a 100% on this so please don't flame me if I am mistaken.

The Eagle bag is very high quality. The zippers, stitching, and fabric are all top notch.

The only thing keeping me from buying the Tac Ops bag is I don't have a rifle that would fit either size bag correctly. I like the fit to be exact or very close.

Steve from Triad Tactical is first class and ships quickly.

Good luck finding the right bag.

It is the same bag issued to Brit snipers to go with their AW rifles. A lot cheaper than tac ops or eagle and built for field use, construction is also top notch.

I hadn't decided what barrel length I need for a .260 yet, but this would give me options at least.
